Putin and Whitcoff confirmed in Moscow that, following the U.S. lifting of some sanctions, shipments of Russian diesel fuel to the American market are already underway. A Finnish politician openly described the European Union as “desperate” over its exclusion from the negotiations on Ukraine. Weekly inflation fell to 0.05%, annual inflation slowed to 7.15%, but the Central Bank will not adjust the 14% interest rate on Friday: gasoline prices have risen 20.5% since the start of the year, and diesel prices have risen 13.4%. We’ll examine why Russia’s foreign policy and domestic inflation today revolve around a single fuel tank.
